Memberships, Loyalty & Gift Cards
Gift cards, store credit, points and plans — one balance per customer.
Still building. Gift cards, store credit, points and plans are built, and all four are now sold and spent at the counter and in the shop. There is no editor for a gift card design, nothing moves a balance from one card to another, a card you set an expiry on has no clock to run it down, and the till cannot scan a member's pass to check them in. What is listed below is what this part will do when it is finished.
“Regulars pay the same as everyone else, and a gift card is a note in the drawer.”
Instead of: A loyalty app, a gift card service and a spreadsheet of members
Memberships, Loyalty & Gift Cards is three ways of keeping customers coming back, sharing one ledger. Sell a gift card at the counter or online and let it be spent anywhere you take money. Give somebody store credit instead of refunding their card. Run a points program and levels that mean something. Sell a plan people pay for monthly, quarterly or yearly, with a named list of what it includes and allowances the till and the booking page know about, so a member is never charged for what they have already paid for. Every balance is an entry in a ledger nobody can edit, and we charge no fee per card and no fee per order.
What you get
- Gift cards sold at the counter or online, spendable anywhere you take money
- Card numbers kept as a one-way fingerprint, never stored where anyone could read and spend one
- Store credit on a customer's record, from a refund, a return or a goodwill gesture
- Every balance an entry in a ledger nobody can edit — corrections are new entries, not rewritten ones
- A balance that cannot go below nothing, guaranteed by the database rather than by being careful
- A nightly check that recomputes every balance and says what it found
- Plans priced monthly, quarterly and yearly at once, so a customer picks how they pay
- A named list of what each plan includes, tied to the benefit that actually delivers it
- Included allowances on their own clock — five a month on a plan paid for yearly
- Customer points, rewards and levels kept well away from the points you give your own team
- No fee per card, no fee per load and no fee per order
Who tends to switch this on
- Shops and counters that sell gift cards and are tired of paying a fee on every one
- Anybody selling a membership, a pass or a bundle of visits
- Businesses who want a customer's balance, plan and history on the same record as their orders
Goes well with
People who switch on Memberships, Loyalty & Gift Cards usually switch these on too.
